We have done some great projects for News Queensland, so when they asked us to create something new we knew it would be a good one! To coincide with the Courier Mail’s release of their new tablet edition app, which allows users to get the latest updates of the news and information; we designed, produced and installed this 3D promotional diarama.
This job included: A custom UV printed and laser cut lightweight x-board which had its own self standing brackets installed in the backs of all elements.A massive iPad vinyl printed and mounted to the floor, and ‘floating’ elements installed to the back stand.
The effect was great and created a lot of attention at the News Queensland headquarters. It looked even better in real life. This execution of custom print and cutting is a real head turner and can be used in many formats to suit many businesses; so we can’t wait to do this again!
Here’s a set of trophies we enjoyed making here at Potato Press. The large trophy is a perpetual award for the ‘James Slipper Trophy’ at Bond University. The small one is for the recipient to take home.
It’s always exciting when we are given more room to be creative with our job. So when the Pica Awards Committee asked us to come up with not 1 but 2 creative trophies we couldn’t wait to get started!
So here is the Environmental Trophy with a layered lasercut acrylic/wood combo to create the effect of water over land. And also the Progressive Trophy which is contemporary and visually striking (much like the work of the person receiving the award), made with coloured layered acrylic. Both were finished nicely with our joinery wood borders.
The guys over at Bass Nation asked us to come up with something really cool for their fishing competitions that they are having. So we created these custom layered pieces, along with some keyrings for the competitors; that we were excited to hand over to them.
Bond University asked us to make something unique, sophisticated and functional for their 25th Anniversary Ball. This is what we came up with, and couldn’t be happier with the final outcome.
We were given the opportunity to create some custom trophies for Coronis Real Estate. Using layered laser cut acrylic, we achieved a great, unique looking award for Coronis to present their employees.
Robina Group approached us again for some sample boards for their exclusive community of ultra-contemporary terrace homes in their City Village development. Was a very tidy outcome, and look forward to more projects like this.
Here’s some trophies created for Olympus working with some bright colours and timber, overall we’re happy with the result.
We created these great looking timber signs for the Brisbane Marketing team in time for the Regional Flavours Food Festival in South Bank, Brisbane. These things were BIG and complimented the designs perfectly.
Here is a mirrored pair of trophies that we were asked to design and fabricate for the Royal Queensland Yacht Squadron. We incorporated laser cut stainless steel, laser cut acrylic and 2 pac base; and got creative with the design and construction. We are all very happy with the end result!
These custom made sample boards for Robina Group Riverlily came up a treat. With our joinery incorporated with laser cut and etched timber face, the outcome is a very stylish and functional piece.
With our new UV Printer in the factory, we were waiting for someone to ask us to incorporate it into a project.
So here is the finished result using a combination of; laser cut acrylic, etched timber, and UV printed acrylic.
We couldn’t be happier with the outcome!
