We created a couple of these custom timber signs for the guys over at BlueSky to spice up their reception areas around Australia. Here’s a custom timber reserved sign we made for LT Hospitality in New York City. Made from solid Australian Native joinery timber. Sometimes simplicity is key, and we think this turned out quite nicely. The timber has a beautiful sheen that catches the light at different angles and matched with the matte black text creates an subtle but stylish table piece. LT Hospitality – Timber Reserved Plaques
We just recently completed some Custom Joinery & Environmental Graphic Fitout for DLX Agencies, which put our design and joinery skills at work. Who are the agency for Hurley, Nike and Converse here on the Gold Coast. As you can see the space looks modern, simple and crisp for these premium brands. The client brief was to supply a look that would compliment the premium brands.
The job entailed 4 solid waterfall edged free standing showroom tables, 2 ‘a-frame’ counter levered solid timber shoe shelving displays. And 1 giant boardroom table (which had to be lifted in by 6 people due to the weight of the hardwood!) all made with A-grade Australian “Blackbutt” hardwood. All has been finished with natural furniture wax for a great natural wood tone and a crisp matte black paint for a subtle accent.
The guys at The Robina Group keep us busy with great custom work that they use to spice up their showrooms, and with a new development up an running they needed some more cool items. A custom cut and printed A frame for outside the showroom, and some custom door hangers to let people know that they’re open for business! A custom TV surround for around the touch screen inside the showroom. Some more samples boards which slide into drawers underneath a joined timber framed corkboard map to identify which areas have been sold. This all looks fantastic all together in their environment and carries the branding through the whole showroom. Once again we have worked with the good people of Brisbane Marketing and Sharon Penny Designs to create some signage and installation pieces for the Regional Flavours Food Festival at Southbank, Brisbane. This year we have reconditioned a large freestanding wall for the Hunting Club tent. We refurbished and constructed the new archway and designed a custom wallpaper design mixed with asian inspired imagery and a concrete background to compliment the Asian Fusion menu. As well as the usual freestanding printed timber signs, beer samplers paddles, printed timber cube seating and custom timber menus. All in all another great event we were glad to be a part of.
We were aproached by the Campbelltown Shire Council to create this custom timber commemorative awards. The awards consisted of Australian Blackbutt, Tasmanian Oak, Red Cedar, Iron bark (Which was from a tree that was felled from the local Army barracks) and Pine which was a direct decendant of the Lone Pine from Gallipoli, sourced from the Inverell RSL. It was a great project to be invovled in.
The Medibank Feel Good Program was a series of free outdoor exercise classes, running over two months that finished a couple of weeks ago. It included classes for Yoga, different variations of Pilates, Bubacise & Zumba. To promote getting outside and getting active. So we made a couple of simple and clean custom built Yoga mat trolleys for the guys in South Bank. They were custom built in our joinery and finished with graphics UV printed onto timber in our factory. They are both functional and look great too!
Here are some cool custom made prototype shoe boxes we made in our joinery out of recycled hardwood. The guys at Kustom Footwear asked us to create something special for them so this is the end result. We then laser etched graphics on the sides, including a cool floral pattern for a textured effect. They came together really well and we are super happy with the overall look!
These cool custom interior menu signage boards turned out great for The Lamb Shop . Based at The Oracle in Broadbeach. Which is “offering a modern take on the humble souvlaki”; a great little restaurant with an amazing menu. This was fabricated in our factory and installed by our own team. Great effect of black paint with matte white lettering gives a clean & simple look. Black with the timber grain running through also a great subtle effect. This really works in the space it has been given and melds perfectly with the modern/industrial look of the restaurant.
Well it’s nearly Christmas, and nothing says Christmas like the UV print custom build we got to do for the guys over in Southbank including; Custom designed and hand crafted chairs built at our joinery, then the inserts printed and cut and fitted in our factory, a one of a kind reindeer! Designed, printed, cut, assembled all in factory and transported up to Southbank for the Xmas markets, a very festive pattern uv printed directly onto the timber and mounted as facades for the Xmas market shops.
It looks like it’s going to be a great time as they’ll be having multiple events over the christmas period including the Stanley Street markets and performers and some yummy food and drinks to eat.
We have done some great projects for News Queensland, so when they asked us to create something new we knew it would be a good one! To coincide with the Courier Mail’s release of their new tablet edition app, which allows users to get the latest updates of the news and information; we designed, produced and installed this 3D promotional diarama.
This job included: A custom UV printed and laser cut lightweight x-board which had its own self standing brackets installed in the backs of all elements.A massive iPad vinyl printed and mounted to the floor, and ‘floating’ elements installed to the back stand.
The effect was great and created a lot of attention at the News Queensland headquarters. It looked even better in real life. This execution of custom print and cutting is a real head turner and can be used in many formats to suit many businesses; so we can’t wait to do this again!
Here’s a set of trophies we enjoyed making here at Potato Press. The large trophy is a perpetual award for the ‘James Slipper Trophy’ at Bond University. The small one is for the recipient to take home.
