Flour Mill of Summer Hill - Hand Bound Custom Folders

Our on site book-binder created these hand bound custom folders for the guys at Metropolis for a project for Flour Mill in Sydney. The Flour Mill is going to be a real estate development “…where parkland, pedestrian areas and new internal streets seamlessly connect the apartments and terrace homes with their wider environment. The past becomes the foundation for a new, dynamic and contemporary neighbourhood.”

The Folder had to be made to suit the overall branding. So we created these hessian wrapped custom hand-bound folders with a black leather interior. We added a clip lock system to make it easier to update or change the inside content and with the incorporation of a UV print onto the front with the fantastic colour that the Flour Mill are using in their logo have tied it all together nicely and created a modern but also nostalgic look.

Brisbane Marketing - UV print custom build for Christmas Markets

Well it’s nearly Christmas, and nothing says Christmas like the UV print custom build we got to do for the guys over in Southbank including; Custom designed and hand crafted chairs built at our joinery, then the inserts printed and cut and fitted in our factory, a one of a kind reindeer! Designed, printed, cut, assembled all in factory and transported up to Southbank for the Xmas markets, a very festive pattern uv printed directly onto the timber and mounted as facades for the Xmas market shops.

It looks like it’s going to be a great time as they’ll be having multiple events over the christmas period including the Stanley Street markets and performers and some yummy food and drinks to eat.

News Queensland - Custom Print Promotional Signage

We have done some great projects for News Queensland, so when they asked us to create something new we knew it would be a good one! To coincide with the Courier Mail’s release of their new tablet edition app, which allows users to get the latest updates of the news and information; we designed, produced and installed this 3D promotional diarama.

This job included: A custom UV printed and laser cut lightweight x-board which had its own self standing brackets installed in the backs of all elements.A massive iPad vinyl printed and mounted to the floor, and ‘floating’ elements installed to the back stand.

The effect was great and created a lot of attention at the News Queensland headquarters. It looked even better in real life. This execution of custom print and cutting is a real head turner and can be used in many formats to suit many businesses; so we can’t wait to do this again!

Bond University - Perpetual Rugby Trophy

Here’s a set of trophies we enjoyed making here at Potato Press. The large trophy is a perpetual award for the ‘James Slipper Trophy’ at Bond University. The small one is for the recipient to take home.

Coast of Origin - Timber Trophies

We created these custom trophies for the Coast of Origin surfing competition. The winners won the laser etched + printed plaque, and the runner ups won the straight printed plaque.

Mad Hueys - Surfing Trophy

The Mad Hueys are hosting The Komune Bali Pro surfing competition at Kermas Beach in Bali, and they approached us to build some trophies for the winners.

The colours really pop on the UV print on the acrylic and the wood back.

Pica Awards - Environmental Award & Progressive Award

It’s always exciting when we are given more room to be creative with our job. So when the Pica Awards Committee asked us to come up with not 1 but 2 creative trophies we couldn’t wait to get started!

So here is the Environmental Trophy with a layered lasercut acrylic/wood combo to create the effect of water over land. And also the Progressive Trophy which is contemporary and visually striking (much like the work of the person receiving the award), made with coloured layered acrylic. Both were finished nicely with our joinery wood borders.

Occy Grom Comp Custom Trophies

Here are some custom laser etched and printed wooden trophies that we did for the 2014 Occy grom comp sponsored by Billabong and Breaka.
They are a mix of printed ply, spray painted ply and laser cut ply glued on top of each other to form a layered look.
We love that bright green!
