QLD Government - Reconciliation Awards

The Queensland Reconciliation Awards recognise efforts undertaken by businesses, community organisations, educational institutions and government bodies that are going above and beyond their core business to foster reconciliation and pave the way for a better future. The Department of the Premier and Cabinet approached us to create an exciting new concept for the awards. Indigenous artist, Jordana Angus and Carbon Creative  developed this beautiful illustration for the event. The “artwork is an interpretation of what Reconciliation in Australia means to me (Jordana) and recognises the positive steps that businesses, organisations and educational institutions are taking towards reconciliation in Queensland.”

These exceptional awards utilise native Australian timbers with etched text and logo’s to highlight the deserving winners. The supplied artwork encapsulated within this trophy has been broken up into layers for added depth and intrigue throughout the piece. Jordana created so many beautiful elements and symbols in this artwork that we really wanted to highlight all the aspects of them. We wanted the illustrations to be the focal point of the awards with the natural timbers enhancing the earthy colours of the artwork.

AMAZON WEB SERVICES AWARDS

Amazon reached out to us to design and create a trophy that resembled an Amazon shipping box to award students at Michigan State University.

We utilised a solid block of hard maple timber which we printed on all sides to look like a real life shipping box! We printed everything from the corrugations in the cardboard to the iconic Amazon shipping tape and the final effect was an uncanny resemblance to the real thing!

We loved working on this project with Amazon. If you have a fun new project you want to bring to life, Contact us today!

IT Wizards - Timber & Leather Folders

The team over at IT Wizards contacted us to design new portfolios that would intrigue desired new customers. After the initial design brief, we were given creative freedom to create something fresh that would grab the attention of potential new clients.

We designed the folders around a variety of materials and methods to produce a unique look. The folders were constructed of a mid-tone timber to bring some texture to the folders. The timber was embellished with laser etching and coloured leather with printed logos. We laser cut parts of the IT Wizards logo to incorporate the white paper from the internal pages below.

This combination of techniques produced one of a kind point of sale material for our client.

We hope to work with IT Wizards on their next innovative project! Contact us today to design your next point of sale range.

Alfred Whiskey Boxes

We were approached by Alfred, a Sydney based design studio, to help bring their design concepts for a whiskey tasting kit to reality. These boxes were made for the 2020 Diageo Special Releases single malt scotch Whiskey “Rare by Nature” range. The tasting kit highlights the eight whiskey releases, each with their own tasting glass and food pairings.

These kits feature a pale blonde timber which tones in with the deep red and gold of the “Rare by Nature” colour scheme. The box was designed so the lid slides off easily and is flush with all sides. Internally we have installed custom foam inserts to fit the supplied whiskey bottles and glasses snuggly so they can be shipped without the risk of damage to the fragile glass inside. Each sample is also clearly labelled for ease of identification by the user.

This was a great project to work on, and we hope to work with the team at Alfred again soon!

City of Ryde - Women in Local Government

We were contacted earlier this year by the City of Ryde council, asking if we could design a piece of celebratory art for International Women’s day. We of course jumped at the chance to be a part of such a special project. This commemorative piece highlights all women who have served in local government, starting with the first who woman who served in 1954, Mrs Edna Wilde OAM. We also incorporated blank space into the design to allow for future female leaders to be added, as well as serving as a daily reminder to take action for inclusion and equality.

This multi-layered project highlights native Australian Timbers and bursts of colour throughout. The piece needed to be easily updatable so we have designed it with a puzzle like technique for future discs to be added by the City of Ryde employees. The striking etch of the first female Mayor, Mrs Edna Wilde OAM, really brings this piece to life.

The below images were supplied to us by the team at City of Ryde. Here you can see current City of Ryde Mayor Jerome Laxale and the first female Mayor and longest serving Councillor, Mrs Edna Wilde OAM unveiling this commemorative piece of art.

Magic Millions - Raceday Awards

The Magic Millions hold a number of prestigious horse racing events throughout the year and we were honoured once again to create their new 2020-2021 awards suite.

The trophies were designed in-house by our creative team who wanted to represent the tools of the trade that are used in hours of training to get racehorses to award winning standards. Our team drew inspiration from the black leather saddles and boots that are a hardy yet luxurious material that feature throughout racing as a sport. Black leather feature panels have been recessed into the sides of the awards, decorated in debossed gold-foiled letters.

We were able to incorporate a native Australian hardwood timber adorned with a laser etch as one of the main features of this trophy. We have accompanied the contrasting tones of the timber and black leather with glossy gold titles plates. These gold plates match the gold foil debossed winners text that run vertically along the leather features.

A timeless design to last many years, these awards exhibit a multitude of construction techniques which radiate a highly refined finish. Contact us today to enquire about a custom design for your event!

Independent Brewers Association - Indies Awards

The Indie Beer Awards celebrate and reward brewers all around Australia for their hard work and dedication to their craft. Despite 2020 being a challenging year for all, the Indies were once again a success! These bold trophies signify a champion in their field, and are displayed proudly in breweries throughout the country. We have been working with the team at IBA going on 4 years now and hope to keep working with them in the future!
Utilising Native Australian timber, these trophies are CNC routed to shape and embellished with laser etched award details. The gloss red acrylic is a nice contrast with the mid-tone timber hues, while a black and gold badge is attached to the face. These elements come together to create a stylish award that truly captures the IBA spirit.

Nick Did This - Reconciliation Award

The team at Nick Did This reached out during 2020 to get two reconciliation awards created for their client. After consulting with the Nick Did This team, we were able to bring their design to life.

Through the use of layered timber and coloured cut-through sections, this trophy is striking and sophisticated. We used a stained native Australian Timber combined with printed details to create this piece. The contrast between the dark timber and light pastel coloured details really make this award pop! We are really happy with how these awards turned out, and look forward to working with the Nick Did This team again in the future! Contact us to work with us on your next trophy!

Western Australia & Tasmanian Racing Womens Bonus

The Magic Millions Racing Women’s Bonus promotes and showcases women throughout the racing industry and the vital roles they play. This distinction, which has now been running for 9 years, has been an extremely successful initiative.

The Tasmanian and Western Australian trophies reflect this esteemed program, our design team wanted to create awards that were both strong and elegant. The piece was designed to utilise a variety of materials including a glossy rose gold mirror and an Australian native Eucalypt timber. A minimalist racehorse feature has been used as one of the heroes of the piece accompanied by a stylised racetrack shape. An elegant rose gold laser cut has been embedded into the base of the award, framing the laser etched award titles.

Nautique Series Champion

The World Wake Association held the Nautique Wakeboard World Championships in August of 2020 with great success. It was great to work on an event again with the crew at Nautique & the WWA after a crazy year of cancellations and unforeseen circumstances.

These Overall Series Champion Trophies are simple, yet striking and utilise a variety of techniques in order to create this impressive finished product. Using a Native hardwood for the base of this trophy means it will be long lasting and add a substantial weight to the award. The trophy has been accented with laser etched details and pops of the iconic Nautique red. The final touch was adding laser cut acrylic, to add additional depth and texture to the trophy.

Congratulations to the talented winners!
